Uganda Bird-Watching Tour – 10 Days
Uganda Bird Watching Tour 10 days takes you to the richest African birding destination, Uganda, from the source of the Nile on lake Victoria to the snow capped Rwenzori Ranges, the montane forest of the Virunga volcanoes to the desert plains of Karamoja. In this tour, expect observation of some endemic bird species that are difficult to find elsewhere.

Day to Day Program
Day 1: Kampala – Kibale forest National Park
In the morning, pick up from your hotel in Kampala and drive to Kibale forest National Park. Late afternoon birding at the park entrance. Dinner and overnight in lodge/ Tented Camp.
Day 2: Kibale Forest National Park
Take a full day guided walk in the park, have a look for the families of the Chimps, red and colobus monkeys chattering and swimming from trees to frees up to 55 meters in height. Red ? winged Francolin, Red-Chested Fluff-tail, White-Naped pigeon, African Robin, Abyssinian Ground Thrush, Grey throated flycatcher, white-bellied (crested flycatcher, Marked and Black napped. Apalis Uganda Woodland Warbler, Chestnut-winged starling, Tiny sunbirds, Grey headed alive-back. All meals & overnight in lodge/camp.
Day 3: Kibale Forest N.P. – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning walk in the Magombe Swamp followed by breakfast then check out and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for birding around lake George and Mweya Peninsula for a look of Shoebill stock, Martial Eagle, Black-ramped Buttonquail, African Skimmer, verneaux?s Eagle-owl, Black Bee-eater, white-tailed lark, white ? winged warbler, Papyrus Gonolek, Papyrus canary and more. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge- out up market safari lodge.
Day 4: Queen Elizabeth N.P. – Ishasha.
Breakfast early in the morning, then drive to Ishasha through the Maramagambo ? kigezi area. Lunch enroute and will arrive at Ishasha for a late evening walk. Dinner and overnight at Ishasha Bandas campground.
Day 5: Ishasha – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Wake up at 0600hrs for early morning game drives breakfast at 0830 hrs followed by travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The richest forest of flora and fauna in East Africa is home to rare Mountain Gorilla. After lunch, proceed with Afternoon birding, western Bronze-naped Pigeon, Dusky and Olive long-tailed cuckoos, Fraser?s Eagle ? Owl, Rwenzori Nightjar. Bar-tailed Trogon, Black Bee-eater, will-cocks, Honey guide, Fine-banded and Eliot?s Woodpeckers, Grey Chested and black-faced Rufous warbler, Chapin?s flycatcher, Many-colored Bush-shrike, Brown-capped weaver, white collared Olive-back, Red-fr8o[‘/nted Ant-pecker and Oriole-Finch, Archer?s Robin-Chat, Albertine Rift Endemic-Red-throated Alethe, Kivu Ground Thrush, Montane, Montane Masked Apalis, Collared Apalis, Grauer’s Warbler, Short tailed warbler, Red-faced woodland warbler, yellow eyed Black Flycatcher, Rwenzori Bats and Strange weaver. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest Camp.
Day 6: Binding
Full day birding in the forest, you will have all meals and overnight in your camp.
Day 7: Mubwindi Swamp:
Breakfast followed by a full day tour to Ruhija at the Mubwindi swamp. You will have picnic lunch, evening return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Bwindi – Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, check out and drive to lake Mburo national park with packed lunch and game drives enroute. There are other four smaller lakes in this park with beautiful and tranquil surroundings where you will see Impala, Eland, Buffalo, waterbuck and Klipspringer. Dinner and overnight in lodge/Tented camp.
Day 9 . Bird watching:
This day, you will have a full day birding at lake Mburo. After lunch on the picnic site, you will take a canoe trip in the afternoon to see Kingfisher, Heron and other water birds. Your guide will keep you a safe distance from the hippos and crocs. Look for African Finfoot, Brown-chested Plover, Southern Ground Hornbill, sport-flanked. Red-tailed and Black-collared Barbets, white winged warbler, Papyrus yellow warbler, Caruthers, cisticola, papyrus Gonoreck, yellow-billed ox-pecker and Northern Brown-throated weaver. Dinner and overnight in your lodge.
Day 10. Lake Mburo – Kampala:
After breakfast, rest and relax at leisure in your camp waiting for hot lunch. There after lunch the drive will take you back to Kampala.
