Gorilla Safari & Chimpanzee Tracking – 8 Days
Gorilla Safari & Chimpanzee Trekking Uganda is an astonishing privilege, the tour takes you to visit a home to half of the world’s population of Mountain Gorillas in Uganda. It is a great privilege to be able to see these enormously powerful and gentle creatures in their spectacular natural habitat, the tropical forests bordering the Virunga Volcanoes. This tour can be to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a treasure chest forest in East Africa or to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, one of Uganda’s most scenic parks with its dramatic volcanoes. The tour extends to Queen Elizabeth National Park and heads to track Chimps at Kibale Forest National Park.

Day to Day Program
Day 1: Entebbe – Kampala
On arrival in Entebbe International Airport, meet and assist by our staff and transferred to a Hotel in Kampala. If your flight arrives in the morning you have to change your currency to local currency. Then get to know Kampala. You can visit some exciting places with the help of your driver/guide. These may include; Kasubi Tombs, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, museum and many others. Dinner and overnight at Speke Hotel Kampala booked on bed and breakfast basis,
Day 2: Kampala – Bwindi Forest Impenetrable National Park
Take breakfast and depart to Bwindi, which is around an 8-hour drive. With a stop at the craft village at the equator and shopping, we continue to Mbarara for lunch and later pass through the beautiful evergreen mountain country that is, the “Little Switzerland of Uganda”. Arrive at Bwindi late in the evening for dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Tented accommodation (Luxury) or Buhoma community Bandas(budget)
Day 3: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking
Early morning after breakfast, with your packed lunch, go for a briefing at 08:00 hours before beginning the trek. Gorilla tracking is unpredictable, so it is difficult to foresee how many hours you will take in the process. It may take 2-8 hours, and you should be prepared to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. An encounter with these gentle giants will be your most exciting experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these gentle giants. After an encounter of a group of gorillas some with silver backs, one can say “a sight of Gorillas has made my lifetime tour”
Later return for dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Tented accommodation Luxury) or Buhoma community Bandas(Basic)
Day 4: Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth
Having taken breakfast, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is rich in wildlife and others call it a birder’s paradise! Arrive through the famous Ishasha Sector, in anticipation of rewarding your cameras by seeing the tree-climbing lions. Check in this evening at Mweya safari lodge or Jacana safari Lodge for luxury or Institute of Ecology for basic accommodation
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park
At 0600hours, depart for a game drive in the Northern parts of the park along the Kasenyi track. This is the best time for opportunities of viewing the cats in action.This early morning game drive in the park, provides excellent opportunities to see Lions, Leopards, Giant Forest Hogs, Cape Buffaloes, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Topi and Bush bucks and many more. After lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography.Bird watching and game viewing is wonderful. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species recorded making it a magnet for bird watchers. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya safari lodge or Jacana safari Lodge for luxury or Institute of Ecology for basic accommodation
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth – Kibale Forest
Take breakfast, you may choose to explore Kyambura Wildlife Reserve driving through grassland areas. Pass by the astonishing gorge of the tropical rainforest 100 meters deep. Trek into Kyambura River Gorge for an extraordinary experience tracking chimpanzees. It’s a lucrative experience not only to see the chimpanzees, but also to see the gorgeous river valley that houses numerous birds and butterfly species, then transfer to Kibale National Park, a proclaimed home of Primates. Dinner and overnight at Ndali safari Lodge (Luxury) or Kanyankyu ecological site (Basic)
Day 7: Kibale Chimp (Primates)
After breakfast, we shall drive to Kibale Forest National Park for primate viewing.This park is known for the highest number of primate species in Africa. The activity starts at 8.00 am in the morning. 2-3 hours search for chimpanzees and other primates including phoeste, Red-Colobus, Blue, Red-tailed and gray cheeked Mangabeys swinging through the dense forest and birds, butterflies and many small insects The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates, but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and primates in close quarters. A visit to Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site is amazing, as we shall encounter rare and beautiful flora and fauna. Lunch, Dinner and overnight at Ndali safari Lodge or kanyankyu ecological site.
8 Days: Kibale – Kampala
Adventure the region, which has many crater lakes, and later proceed to Kampala with lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at Speke Hotel or Hotel Africana or kampala Bed and Breakfast basis,
